This drill was held at the West Creek Reservation, it involved a lost person (Michelle Conrad), and a search dog used to track the lost person. There were 48 people involved in the drill including CERT Trainees, CERT Members and a number of spontaneous volunteers.
The Parma Justice Center hosted the 2008 Parma Safety Fair. Participants included Parma Police, Fire and EMTs. Parma Auxilary police, Parma CERT, County Sheriffs K9 Unit and Life Flight from Metro Hospital.
During March, 2008, the City of Parma Safety Forces including Police, Fire, Auxilary Police, Parma CERT, The Parma City School District and Parma Community General Hospital participated in a mass casualty drill. It was a highly educationl process for all involved.
Parma CERT, in coordination with the Parma Fire Department offered CPR training during the four Saturdays of February, 2008. Approximately eighty people were trained in this life saving procedure.
Parma CERT held a drill in conjunction with Parma Fire and the Cuyahoga County Metroparks Rangers. A child was lost in the Metroparks, Parma CERT did search and rescue, locating the child and then called in Parma Fire Department Paramedics.
On Valentine's Day 2006, a massive snowstorm hit Parma. CERT assisted by helping to dig out the fire hydrants around the City. Two members of Parma CERT assisted a man in medical trouble and were named Citizens of the Month by the Mayor and City Council.
After the very first Parma CERT Drill, additional Fire Safety Training was held. The training took place at Parma Health Education Center on State Road.
