Beginning with ourselves, we will prepare to work as an individual or together as emergency response teams, to assist our families, neighbors and community in time of disaster or need and be prepared to make decisions that benefit the people of the City of Parma.

Welcome to the Parma CERT Homepage!!   Please bookmark this page for an easy return!!

The website is constantly updated with information and tools to assist the Parma CERT members.

This site was developed by Parma CERT for their members and for the citizens in the City of Parma wishing to know more about who we are, what we do and how we can help.

CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team.  CERT is a non-profit, 501(C)(3) corporation.  It is an all citizen volunteer group to assist first responders (fire and police) in the event of emergencies. We provide the training and equipment.  There is no cost to join.

Liability Protection - Ohio Revised Code 121.404 provides liability protection to registered Ohio Citizens Corps volunteers during local, state or federally declared emergencies, disasters, drills and trainings.  The statute also exempts a registered volunteer's personal information on the Ohio Citizen Corp Database from public disclosures.

Parma CERT could not exist without the support of the Parma Fire Department, thank you Chief John French and Captain Ed Sopko, and to all from the Fire Department who have assisted us in our almost four years of existence.  Also thank you to Mayor Dean DePiero and Safety Director Greg Baeppler, whose support since CERT began in 2004 has been a big help.

If you have questions, ideas or something you would like the website to feature, please email  us at parma5@parmacert.com
